|
Northern Quarter officers PC Barnwell 07808, PC Hunt 09091 and PC Read 06598 have been back on duty today, covering the Northern Quarter area over this weekend to continue to tackle issues of anti-social behaviour and drug use in and around Thomas Street / William Fairburn Way and Oak Street.
Today our efforts have continued with positive results with a quick response to issues on William Fairburn with all three officers detaining a large group on William Fairburn Way, with a persistent offender linked to issues issued with a community protection warning preventing him from Entering William Fairburn / Oak Street / Tib Street and Thomas Street. During this incident 6 known nominals were detained for stop searches after being cornered on Martlesham Walk PC Reads quick thinking efforts cornered the group.
Work continued onto Tib Street Car Park with PC Hunt conducting a search of the premises, where inside the stairwell a large stanley knife has been seized and taken of the streets.
During a search of the area PC Barnwell has sighted a male believed to be drug dealing to known offenders in the area leading to a quick foot chase from officers onto Back Turner Street from Hilton Street. Unfortunately our friend did not anticipate the speed and stamina of our team and quickly found himself in handcuffs and escorted through Thomas Street straight to a Police Van, whereby he will be returned back to Prison after being wanted on recall.
Our team has been thankful for information / intelligence provided to us and appreciate you ongoing help.
